I am excited to share one of the new Fusion Mineral Paint colours with you. As soon as I saw Cranberry, I knew it would be a hit. It is just one of those WOW colours and we needed to paint something with it!
So, I wandered into my back 40 to find the perfect piece to paint. My back 40 is a super huge storage area at the back of my shop - like about 1500 square feet huge! It's hidden behind a door and every once in a while I let someone take a peek and they are always impressed by all my "stuff". I think I am on the verge of becoming a hoarder. But, I am not quite there yet, so it's all good.
Anyway, I saw this old washstand I had purchased on Kijiji fairly recently and knew she was the one.
Cranberry was the perfect colour choice, don't you think?
My friends, Julie and Steve, from The Metroplitan Moose Beanery and Cafe in Kakakeba Falls (the cute little village where I live) were kind enough to give me with some baking to use in my photos. I rushed through the photos so that I could have a tasty treat afterwards. Just kidding!
We also painted a few paper mache boxes so I could show you some colours that look great with Cranberry. Midnight Blue and Bayberry look amazing paired with Cranberry!
I bought the paper mache boxes at Dollarama. They would be perfect to use as gift boxes or if you paint some and love them and can't bare to give them away - they would be wonderful little storage boxes for recipe cards and other smaller items. Hmm. Do any of you use recipe cards still? Perhaps you use your phones or ipads in the kitchen. I may be a little old fashioned, but I will like a handwritten recipe card and I doubt that will ever change!
We liked the square boxes so much that we also painted some cute round ones too. The chair is also painted in Midnight Blue.
We used the small tester sizes of Fusion to paint the boxes. We painted two boxes of each colour and used about half of the tester bottle. That was quite impressive!
The little basket on the floor is also painted in Bayberry. When I bought my old building, I found about 20 old baskets like this in the attic. Score!!
I likely took about a dozen photos of the paintbrush dipped in Cranberry, because the colour was just so gorgeous.
Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to read my blog. I do appreciate it! My little paint shop is a success because of you. That just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
