This Giveaway is over, but you can still enjoy the photos and learn how to mix the perfect pink for Valentine's Day and other custom colours!
Our Giveaway #12 winner is Brittney M. from Thunder Bay, Ontario!
Today is our last giveaway! First off, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for popping in and leaving a comment! Many of you did so - for 14 days in a row! In fact, I have received more comments on my blog in 14 days than I have in 3 years. Those comments are invaluable to me. On most days, I strategically asked you questions so that I could understand how I could become a better blogger. Okay, I am totally kidding about having a strategy. I didn't really put much thought into my questions, but the insight I have gained is amazing! I feel that you have armed me with some great content ideas and I have already started a list of future blog posts.
With or without a Giveaway, please continue to comment on my blog posts. Receiving feedback from you is important to me! I helps me understand this crazy thing called blogging and let's me know if I am on track or if I need to change directions a little.
I have changed today's giveaway! I thought you all must be getting tired of my $5o gift cards, so today's Giveaway is $100 in cold hard cash. Just kidding! You have to use it towards paint.
TODAY'S GIVEAWAY #14 IS:
A $100 gift card that can be used towards any type of paint or products - Fusion Mineral Paint, Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint or Homestead House Milk Paint. If the winner cannot visit my shop and uses the gift card on-line, their order will have free shipping so that the $100 is for paint.
I have been working on Valentine's photos the last few days. I have lots of photos to share, but it's a quick read. I have also included some information about mixing Fusion paint colours. Yes, you can mix them! Woot! Woot!
Meet Fort York Red.
Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Are you singing like Stevie Wonder yet?
Isn't she goofy?
Not me - The xoxo sign in the bottle of paint!
This was one of my favourite photo shoots ever! Jennylyn, the creator of Fusion, asked me to take photos for Valentine's Day, so I went shopping! I walked up and down the aisles in Dollarama in search of some inspiration, ideas and props. It's amazing how you can sometimes pull off an entire photo shoot with Dollarama stuff. No pricey stores for me. I'm a thrifty kind of gal!
By the time I finished this photo shoot ...
my mouth was on fire from cinnamon hearts!
Here we have Fort York Red and a white called Picket Fence.
And if you mix those two colours together, you get a lovely shade of pink!
Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
She reminds me of cotton candy.
So far, Fusion has created 32 custom blend recipe cards like this one. They really take the guess work out of mixing paint! To get this shade of pink, I mixed 1 part Fort York Red to 5 parts Picket Fence.
A while back I wrote up a blog post about mixing custom colours. All of these lovely shades were created by mixing colours.
Aren't these the perfect colours for a little girl's room? Or even a big girl's room? I would love these colours in my bedroom!
If you want to read more, here is my blog post about mixing colours.
You can also see all 32 custom colour recipes in this gallery.
And totally off topic ...
I have gift cards available in my shop and Valentine's Day is quickly approaching! Perhaps you may want to drop a hint to your sweetheart that you want the gift of creativity this year. Gift cards can even be used towards our painting workshops!
I have received quite a few emails and facebook messages about our workshops. Karen has just finished painting our workshop projects and I just have to photograph them. I will have them on-line soon and I will also write a short blog post so that you know when we are good to go.
Thank you for three wonderful years!
