This Giveaway is over, but you can still enjoy meeting the newest Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint colour - Outback Petticoat!
Liz M. from Thunder Bay, Ontario is our Giveaway #3 winner!
My question to you was: What's the most unusual thing you have ever painted? I had lots of good laughs at all of your answers! One of my faves was from Joanne Malicki who wrote: sometimes my cats and dogs brush by my fleshly painted furniture...does that count as something unusual to paint?
I have a soft spot for Joanne. She and her aunt Susan came to my shop to buy milk paint even before I had "officially" opened.
My shop had pink walls back then - as in pink insulation walls! You see, originally I started selling paint on-line while I has renovating my shop and it was no where near being ready to open. Joanne found out I had milk paint and had to come. Although a wee bit younger than me, Joanne has played with milk paint far longer than I have. Okay, busted. Joanne is considerably younger than me.
Joanne has a business, Wild Mustang Studio by Joanne Malicki, where she sells her painted furniture and signs.
I just had to share some of Joanne's signs and this armoire with you!

I have a surprise! Today is the official launch of a new Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint colour called Outback Petticoat.
Marian (Miss Mustard Seed) describes Outback Petticoat so well:
“Our newest colour, Outback Petticoat, is rich, earthy and full of fire — like the Outback settlers and pioneers. It’s a gorgeous shade that is warm, classic and bold. I love the imagery the name evokes and the reference to the stained hems of petticoats worn by women in the 1800’s and early 1900’s.”
Do you have favourite bloggers that you love to follow and can't wait to see what their latest project is? I know I do. Sharon from I Restore Stuff lives in Australia and I always look forward to her posts. Sharon recently painted this dresser in Outback Petticoat. She used two colours of milk paint and Hemp Oil as a resist to create this look. You can read more on Sharon's blog post to see how she achieved this look. While you are there, check out Sharon's video tutorials. Sharon has a wealth of information to share!
I had a good giggle this morning. I sent Sharon a message asking her if I could use one of her photos on my website. She answered right away which surprised me, because it was shortly after 6:00 am in Australia. Sharon was actually in Florida at Disneyland spending some time with her family. I teased her and told her to pop on up to Canada for a visit. I just know that Sharon would be amazing to hang out with!
I have to tell you, every time I type the word "outback" I want to type the word "outhouse"and I have corrected myself several times. Perhaps typing the word outback comes naturally to the Australians, but being a Canadian, my fingers want to type outhouse. Could you imagine if the new colour was called Outhouse Petticoat? I could just picture a bunch of cottages with all their outhouses painted in this lovely colour! Heck, my sister painted an outhouse recently and turned it into a garden shed. It's the Canadian thing to do. Here's my post about it: An outhouse turned into a garden shed.
Oh my. I shouldn't type blog posts late a night. I get a little ridiculous!
These next two photos are by Marian. For many years Marian has been a great inspiration to me. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Marian and she is lovely. Marian has two wonderful blogs and when you get a minute, grab a cup of coffee and head over to see some of Marian's work. Okay, who am I kidding. You will need way more than a few minutes because once you are there, it's hard to leave.
