A couple weeks ago I was in Toronto and spent a week hanging out with the gang from Homestead House Paint Company. It was an amazing trip! I had the opportunity to spend tons of time with Loree and Jennylyn Pringle who are the incredible mother and daughter team behind Fusion Mineral Paint. Their dedication to manufacturing top notch paints is unbelievable. I am very proud to be part of the Fusion team.
I spent several afternoons playing with paint and taking photos at the Homestead House warehouse and showroom. I even saw the new Fusion colours being released this fall. You are going to love them!
I was speechless when I saw this hutch! Loree painted it with Fusion Mineral Paint and a new product called Fresco.
Here's a close up shot so that you can see the great texture you can achieve with Fresco. The hutch has such an old world feel to it. I just love it!
This photo makes me giggle. I brought home one bag of Fresco with me from Toronto, but it was pretty beat up from being packed in my suitcase. But that's all I had available for photos, so I just went with it.
Fresco comes in a powder form and is simply mixed with Fusion paint to create a variety of looks:
▪ a beautiful ‘Sea Swept’ coastal finish
▪ a ‘Chalky’ matte timeworn finish
▪ an ancient crackled ‘European’ finish.
Fresco is 100% natural and contains no VOC’s.
The hutch is painted in one of the new Fusion colours called Lichen.
To finish it off, Loree used Homestead House Espresso Furniture Wax. This gave the hutch even more of an aged appearance.
But it didn't stop there! The walls and the flowers pots are also done with Fresco.
Notice the beautiful crackling on the wall? This look is simple to achieve with Fresco.
These pots are actually inexpensive Ikea metal pots. Jennylyn used several layers of paint and Fresco to achieve this look.
You can create so many wonderful looks with Fresco! Dont' worry, the back of the Fresco package has great instructions on achieving these looks.
I actually played around with Fresco a few weeks ago in my shop and I painted three doors for my friend's wedding. But, I was in a little bit of a rush getting them done on time and didn't take photos. As soon as the doors come back to my shop, I'll take photos to share with you.
Fresco was officially released yesterday and I have it on order, but my shipment has not arrived yet. I was going to hold off on this blog post until I had it available, but I have received several emails asking if I am going to be carrying Fresco. Yes! It's coming soon!
Here is my on-line listing for Fusion Fresco which shows you package sizes and pricing.
I can't wait to see all of your Fresco projects! Just a friendly reminder that I love when you share before and after photos with me so that I can share them on my facebook page. You can email me at sue@mypainteddoor. com or use the cute little icon below with the envelope.
