A while back I shared some photos of a washstand that my friend, Jan Whybourne, painted with Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint. Jan has a gorgeous cottage at Shebandowan Lake and her goal is to eventually paint most of her furniture there.
Jan also painted this hutch in Fusion Mineral Paint. She hauled both of these pieces from her cottage to my shop and we were able to visit while she painted.
Now Jan's on a roll! She just finished painting two dressers in Homestead House Milk Paint in the colour Hampton. Jan was even kind enough to send me before and after photos!
Jan is also a wonderful quilter. Isn't this Chickadee adorable?
And here's the before photo. The difference is amazing!
Here's dresser number two, also painted in Hampton. Of course Jan made this quilt too. She is one talented lady!
Both dressers were given a coat of Hemp Oil to finish them off.
And the before shot.
I think it is really neat how Jan's photos reflect her passions - photography and quilting. I do believe that she has found another passion - painting. Jan has already texted me a before photo of her next project with these words: "I'm hooked. It's like drugs. lol"
I have been friends with Jan for over 25 years and it think it is wonderful that over the years we have discovered similar passions. We both love photography, gardening and painting.
Jan is an amazing photographer and I asked her to share some of her photos.
Jan loves macro photography.
And I love chocolate!
This is dried Tarragon.
And seeds on a tree.
And a Mum.
One day I was showing Jan how I pet the bees in my garden. I really do! Jan pulled out her camera and was able to get a few great shots that day.
I had to call Jan to ask what this was a photo of. It is really amazing, but I could not figure out what is was. Bubbles! It's a close up shot of bubbles!
How amazing is this shot?
