Fall Workshops
ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS
If you have never used milk paint before - these workshops are perfect for you! If you are an experienced painter and just want to come and play paint - these workshops are for you too!
Our workshops will take the "mystery" out of working with milk paint so that you will have the confidence to paint your own furniture or whatever else your heart desires.
REGISTRATION
All workshops must be paid for in advance. You can reserve your spot on-line (below) or give us a call at 807.345.5059 to pay with your credit card or arrange a bank etransfer.
Price includes:
Absolutely everything you need! Walk in empty handed and leave with a finished piece.
A light snack and beverages
Please remember to wear painting clothes.
All of our workshops are held at My Painted Door, 49 Clergue Street in Kakabeka Falls.
To ensure that everyone will get lots of personal attention and instruction, our workshops are limited to 5 or 6 participants.
CANCELLATIONS
I will try my best to fill your spot, but if I cannot fill it, a $50.00 non-refundable deposit will be retained.
DATE: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
This workshop is limited to 5 participants.
You will complete three signs during this workshop. They are perfect to hang in a row or give as gifts to your favourite little goblins.
We will teach you tons of tips and techniques on how to add character to new wood by layering colours, distressing and stencilling. We will be using milk paint for the signs.
Each sign is 13" tall by 8.25" wide.
DATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24 - 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
This workshop is limited to 6 participants.
You will complete one sign during this workshop.
The sign board, the BOO letters, the cat and the bats are all raw wood and you will paint it all!
We will teach you tons of tips and techniques on how to take new wood and create an authentic looking vintage Halloween sign by distressing, layering colours and more. We will be using milk paint for the signs.
Once you have finished painting your sign, we'll give you some rusty wire, spiders and webs to make it super spooky!!
Sign is 26" wide by 7" tall.
TWO DATES TO CHOOSE FROM:
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm *THIS WORKSHOP DATE IS FULL
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
This workshop is limited to 6 participants.
You will complete one decorative shelf during this workshop.
We are proud to say that a local carpenter builds these wonderful shelves for us!
The shelf is made from raw wood and you will paint it all! We'll be using milk paint because we love it and it's eco-friendly! You can choose from over 60 colours so that your shelf is perfect for your own home.
We will teach you tons of tips and techniques on how to take new wood and paint this lovely decorative shelf by layering colours, distressing and more. During this workshop you will also play around our Stain and Finishing Oil on a little wood star.
Dimensions: 24" wide, 4" deep, 5.5" high
DATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
This workshop is limited to 6 participants.
You will complete one accent table during this workshop.
We are proud to say that a local carpenter makes these wonderful tables for us!
The table is made from raw wood and you will paint it all! We have heavily distressed our table, but if you prefer less distressing, that’s fine too!
We will be using Stain and Finishing Oil on the top of the table (there are several colours to choose from) and the rest of the table will be painted with milk paint. You can choose from over 60 colours of milk paint so that your table is perfect for your own home.
We will teach you tons of tips and techniques on how to take new wood and paint this lovely accent table by layering colours, distressing and more.
